Luca Gardini is the best sommelier in the world!

"I participate to win," he confided before leaving for Santo Domingo. Then immediately corrected himself: "If I get into the three finalists is still a remarkable achievement". But on the top step of the podium is really him: Luca Gardini, born in Romagna and adopted by Milan (works at Carlo Cracco, at the restaurant in Milan in Via Victor Hugo), is the winner of the title of "Word Best Sommelier 2010”.At the Theater of  Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, was held the final of the World Competition organized by the Worldwide Sommelier Association, when in Italy was already night. At the starting grid of the race were present 14 professionals among the most experienced of the global landscape that in the semifinals of the day October 12 battled in «El Catador», the most prestigious wine bar in the Caribbean. An extremely difficult written test, a wine tasting and a practical test of service have been the selection phase that led to promote in the final the three best sommeliers of the moment: Luca Gardini, Milan Krejčí and Héctor García, respectively representatives of Italy, the Czech Republic and the Dominican Republic.
