On the Sundays of 14th and 21st of November 2010 comes back "Open Withering" the event dedicated to the enhancement of Vernaccia of Serrapetrona Docg and Serrapetrona Doc, now in its fifth edition. An event created to tell the fascinating story of one of the wines of the Marche and symbol of its deep bond with the territory. In the afternoons of both days in the lovely town square near Macerata, you can taste the excellent quality obtained from native grapes Vernaccia Nera. A journey through the secrets of one of the most difficult wine to produce, grown in inaccessible areas in the mountainous through complex manufacturing techniques: just think that Vernaccia of Serrapetrona DOCG is the only red sparkling wine that undergoes three fermentations, gaining a complexity without equal, and an amazing aroma, while it takes a long time to bring to maturity the grapes and then aged in the Serrapetrona Doc, wine with particular spice hints and a distinct minerality.  "Open Withering" is a unique opportunity to admire the beautiful wall of grapes hanging to dry in bunches, and hears from the producers themselves an ancient history. A wine from dried grapes directly in the Marche region.
