Parma Ham Festival (thirteenth edition)
The thirteenth edition of the Parma Ham Festival was launched on 10th and ends on September 19th, 2010
The thirteenth edition of the Parma Ham Festival started on 10th and ends on September 19th, 2010 and will feature the municipalities in the area of production of the noble Parma ham. Among the various events scheduled in the name of gastronomy, entertainment and culture, one of the key initiatives will be "open windows": the ham factories open the doors to the public, offering the opportunity to witness the production process and to participate to free tastings. The event will live his grand end in the streets of Parma, on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday, September 19th. On Friday, at lunchtime, there will be the opening of "Prosciutteria", the tasting stand made by the City of Parma during the Festival. Saturday, September 18th, will be open the Flavors Road Market whose many stands will be set in the heart of the city. The market will host the Wine Colli di Parma consortium, the consortium of producers of Balsamic Vinegar, the Brewers Union as well as some local farmers of the Agrimercato association.
Traditional but always eagerly awaited will be the charity auction, scheduled on Saturday at approximately 17:00 of which proceeds will be donated to ADMO. Protagonist will be the solidarity and some carefully selected batch of hams chosen by experts of the Consortium of Parma Ham in order to represent the best of the "King of Hams”.
