Great chef recipes:  bread with apples. From Tyrol, arrives on the tables a genuine and tasty recipe of Herbert Hintner, chef at Zur Rose of San Michele Appiano (BZ). It is not the classic apple pie recipe, but a fresh variant: the sweet bread with apples. The recipe seals the union between two regional specialties, bread and apple and the Marlene fruits. The result is homemade bread, fragrant and natural, healthy alternative to prepackaged snacks for children who can discover the authentic taste of homemade bread. Ingredients for 4 loaves:
  • 1 kg of barley flour
  • 80 g sunflower seeds
  • 80 g of sesame
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 40 g yeast
  • 1 liter of lukewarm water
  • 200 g of dried apples
Preparation: Cut some thin slices of apple, put them in the oven at 25 ° C for three to four hours at a constant temperature and wait until they will be dried. Pour the flour of barley in a bowl, add sunflower seeds, sesame and salt and incorporate. Crumble the yeast, pour water and mix well. Chop dried apples by hand and add to the dough. Shape all to taste, place on a greased baking tray and bake in oven at 190 degrees for 35 minutes. For best results, we suggest you to put a pan in the oven with a bit of water.
