Festival of cheese in Franciacorta
From the Sardinia Pecorino to the Tuscan Raveggiolo, from the Sardinia Flower to the Nostrano of the Trompia Valley: these are some of the protagonists of Franciacorta in white
From 8 to 10 of October 2010 will be held Franciacorta in white, a festival in Franciacorta - Castegnato more precisely, in the province of Brescia - born fifteen years ago with the aim of enhancing the milk and its derivatives, and has become the most authoritative national art cheese exhibition. A wonderful opportunity to enjoy excellent quality cheeses, processed according to ancient traditions, and to discover the beauty of a land not only famous for its outstanding Italian wine. For three days the small town of Castegnato (Bs) will become the "capital of dairy art” and cheese lovers will recognize at this event the richest culinary showcase of dairy products made with cow, goat, sheep raw milk. Among the many specialties offered this year we remind the Sardinian Pecorino, the Flower of Sardinia Gavoi, the Piave cheese of the Dolomites, the Montebore, the Silter Camuno Silano, the Tuscany raveggiolo, the traditional Cacioricotta, the Nostrano of the Trompia Valley, the Raschera Valli Monregalesi, the Robiola Roccaverano, the Sta'el of Gai, a Valcamonica cheese, etc.. The Chessa Farm of Monte Carotto, in the province of Ancona, will present the cheese of Sibilla, sheep cheese produced according to a recipe kept strictly secret by a lady of 100 years. What a wonderful opportunity to sample the various types of cheeses and dairy products in general, from every corner of Italia.
